Ranelle Williams – Birth doula, Midwife Assistant, Massage therapist, Skin Analyst Consultant

From a very young age, I have had a passion for working with women during pregnancy, labor, and birth. My dream became reality in 1996 when I became certified as a massage therapist, specializing in prenatal, labor, infant, and postpartum massage. My table has belly and breast cut outs so mommies can lie face down and enjoy a wonderful massage! Then in 1998, I became a DONA certified birth doula. I enjoy providing doula services for families at home, birth center, and hospital births. Some of the different types of birth I have attended include: natural vaginal, medicated, epidural, planned and unplanned Cesarean, multiples, breech, VBAC, HBAC, water birth, and adoptions! My philosophy is very simple: I meet you where you are at and include your support person(s) significantly in the labor and birth experience. I love working as part of the team. I also find birth photography very rewarding, and am humbled to be a part of helping you treasure the events in your life.  Let’s connect!

Bonnie Slater – living in Maui offering Birth doula services Birth doula trainings and Reset retreats for all women in the island of Maui

Training to be a birth doula  in Boulder Colorado in 1996 was life changing. I have been a full time birth doula for 23 years. The miracle and awe of birth and new life. I love everything about the lifestyle and being a birth doula. From the tears of a new father to the cries of a newborn, I am forever in awe and humbled by the miracle of life. The strength of women’s bodies and the empowerment that can arise through the process is incredible. In 2020,  I moved back to the island of Maui, Hawaii.  I have blended my two favorite things, birth and Maui into a new endeavor for all women. Doulas of Maui is a certified birth doula training and retreat company.

Bethany Melton, RN, BBCI, BBCD, Owner

Bethany loves all things birth, bellies, and babies. Ever since she was a little girl she has dreamed of supporting families through this wonderfully transformative process.

She started her career as an RN in Cardiac and Med/Surg medicine. After having her first son she decided to pursue the doula career feeling that it paired her love of medicine with her love of supporting families. She has since went on to attend many workshops, and become a Birth Boot Camp childbirth educator and doula, specializing in informed decision making and advocacy. She has supported all kinds of births-high risk, twins, VBAC, unmedicated, and Caesarean. She believes the best birth is an informed birth.

When not nerding out on all things birth and babies she can be found corralling her four small children and working toward growing her local “farmette” in Erie, CO.

Boulder Doula Kyla Berry

Kyla Berry CD (DONA) – Birth Doula, Birth & Family Photography
Working with women, children and families has always been my calling. The births of my own three children shaped who I am today and inspired me to become a doula. Every family has unique needs and desires and I join you with an open heart and mind. I support you in having your best possible birth by holding a sacred space for you to fully relax into, offering emotional and physical support and assisting with informed decision making. It is my joy to nurture you and your family, and to help welcome your baby with love. I have supported hospital and home births, natural births and VBACs. In addition to my doula services I offer belly, birth, newborn & family photography in the beautiful outdoors or my studio located in Prospect (Longmont).

Boulder Doula Michele Kowlakowski

Michele Kolakowski – Sanctuary Healing Arts LLC, licensed massage therapist + certified birth + postpartum doula + lactation counselor + pre-& perinatal massage therapy instructor

Nurturing pregnant, laboring, postpartum people and families with loving care, exceptional hands-on healing arts and education has been my passion since 1992. I began as a massage therapist specializing in maternity massage and infant massage education, and attended my first birth as a birth doula in 2002. I had the privilege to join the birth divas of Birth Assistants of Boulder in 2006. It is an honor to witness each new parent tapping and re-discovering their strength and wisdom through the miracle of birthing their child. My deepest wish is to help families create a satisfying, sacred and joyful birth with respect for their unique choices and to offer a continuum of doula care through the 4th trimester and beyond. I am passionate about facilitating teamwork and mutual respect between families and their nurses, midwives and physicians for the best outcomes, birth experiences and postpartum transitions for families. I live in Longmont and enjoy Mother Nature’s splendor in high altitude gardening, hikes to mountain summer flowers and glacial lakes, my yoga and mediation practice, basketball (go Carolina Tarheels and Denver Nuggets!) and being witness to my sons becoming amazing young men.
I am the co-author of Pre- and Perinatal Massage Therapy, 3rd edition (2021) and teach workshops in hands-on healing arts to professionals and expectant people and families nationally and internationally through Sanctuary Healing Arts LLC. I am also Sanctuary Doulas’ founder with the mission of providing exquisite birth and postpartum doula care to families living in and near Boulder County, Colorado. In 2018, I founded the Postpartum Abundance Project, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to provide partial financial sponsorships for Sanctuary Doulas postpartum care to families in need who live in Boulder County and the surrounding communities that we serve. The Postpartum Abundance Project is a simple, grassroots solution to remove economic, racial and ethnic disparities in maternal health care with exceptional doula care.
To balance my teaching and postpartum doula commitments, I am currently offering my birth doula care to returning birth doula clients, friends and family only and serving as a back up birth doula for my birth doula sisters at Birth Assistants of Boulder whenever I can.

co-author of the forthcoming new book Pre- and Perinatal Massage Therapy: A Comprehensive Guide to Prenatal, Labor, and Postpartum Practice, Third Edition scheduled for publication in February 2021
